Our Mission

Connecting People with Each Other and Nature

Love Your Neighbor Farm is a Veteran-Founded Non-Profit that provides a retreat from the stress and busyness of everyday life. It’s a place where you can delve deeply into relationships with other people and truly get to know and love them, all in a setting where the beauty of nature abounds at every turn. We cultivate faith and community through sustainable farming, educational programs, and spiritual retreats. Our goal is to inspire a deeper connection with faith, nature and one another.

A Vision to Restore the Land and Restore People

What does it take to bring healing to both people and nature? The hurts for both are often hidden, looming below the surface and out of view. At Love Your Neighbor Farm, we believe that combining the two — in other words, restoring the land while providing a beautiful, natural place to restore people — is one of the best ways to achieve this vision. There’s something about being immersed in nature that calms the spirit and restores the soul. Find out more about our vision — and join us in this work — by reading below!

Restoring the Land

Abutting historic Macbride State Park, Love Your Neighbor Farm is committed to extending the work of renowned botanist and conservationist Thomas Macbride, for whom the 2,000 acre park is named. In the 1920’s Macbride made it his mission to preserve for the future an area of old-growth forest teeming with what he called “the most diverse wildlife I have ever experienced.” Fast forward by 100 years, and you’ll find LYN Farm walking that same pathway, as we heal the land by converting it from traditional row crop farming to permaculture — featuring Chestnut trees sustainably planted — to help bring back this American classic from the blight that destroyed virtually all of them over a hundred years ago. But we need your help! Your donation — of any amount — helps us move one step closer to fulfilling this vision.

Restoring People

The desire to connect with nature is built-in to humans. We need it. But we also need to connect with others, in a safe place that allows us to share our deepest thoughts and needs. That, too, is a built-in need. And when you combine the two — the wonders of a walk through an old-growth forest, followed by a chance to sit around a roaring campfire with people you’ve grown to trust and love — well, that’s when the magic starts to happen. LYN Farm is committed to providing structured, inviting opportunities for people to connect with nature and each other. Read the “What’s Ahead” section below to find out more, and join us on this journey of healing and restoration!

Plant in Tribute

When you participate in our “Plant in Tribute” program, you know that you’re honoring a special person in your life with a living memorial. And as a bonus, we’ll honor that person with a hand-crafted plaque in the section of the Chestnut stand that you help us plant, as a reminder of your investment. Click the “Find Out More” button to reach out to us for details about our Plant in Tribute program!

What's Ahead

Starting in 2025, we’ll gradually introduce our organized events — like our Crafting Bacon workshops, where men come together to learn how to make and cure their own bacon, and Chestnut Roasts, where neighbors of all ages can come to enjoy warm beverages around a roaring fire, as we roast chestnuts and connect with one another. And, coming soon, our very first Man Camp experience, where a small group gets primitive in nature and has the opportunity to forge lifelong bonds with one another. Join our mailing list to stay apprised of the events and opportunities that are ahead!
